Privacy Policy

The short version: arsenal.finance has no accounts, no sign-up and no login. It does not ask you who you are, it does not build a profile of you, and it does not sell or share anything about you with anyone. Everything below is the long version of that.

1. What the site does not do

• No user accounts, passwords, or sign-up of any kind.
• No advertising network, no ad pixels, no retargeting tags.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of visitor data. There is no data business here.
• No request for your name, address, phone number, income, portfolio, or any financial detail.

2. The numbers you type into the tools

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your own browser. Your salary in the FIRE calculator, your balances in the net worth tracker, your loan terms in the mortgage calculator: none of it is ever sent to a server, never reaches the site owner, and is gone the moment you close the tab. It is arithmetic on your own machine.

The site does use your browser's local and session storage, but only for two things: caching the market and economic numbers it has already fetched, so pages load fast and the data providers are not hammered on every click, and remembering a display preference such as whether a returns table shows total return. Neither holds anything about you, and both clear when you clear your browser data.

Ticker symbols are the one input that leaves your browser, and only indirectly: looking up a stock sends that symbol to the market-data provider so it can return the prices. It carries no identity with it.

3. Server and CDN logs

The site is hosted behind a CDN, and like every web server on the internet it writes ordinary request logs: IP address, user agent, the URL requested, timestamp, and response status. These exist to serve the pages, block abuse, and diagnose outages. They are retained by the hosting and CDN providers under their own standard retention windows and are not used to build any profile or mailing list.

4. Analytics

The site uses privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics to see which pages get read and roughly where readers arrive from. They record page path, referrer, approximate country, device type and screen size. They do not set advertising cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not receive anything that identifies you personally.

If you would rather not be counted at all, there are two ways out and both of them work. Run any content blocker, which stops the analytics scripts reaching you in the first place. Or visit arsenal.finance/?notrack=1 once, which sets a permanent flag in this browser so those scripts never load again; visiting /?track=1 undoes it.

5. Things you choose to send

Two places on the site accept input that actually leaves your browser, and both are entirely optional:

• The feedback form. If you report a bug or send an idea, the message is delivered to the site owner. The email field is optional and exists only so there is a way to reply to you. It is never added to a mailing list.
• The newsletter. Subscribing is handled by the newsletter platform, not by this site, and it is governed by that platform's own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from any issue.

6. Third parties the pages talk to

Pages pull live numbers from outside providers: economic series from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, filings from the SEC, and market, crypto and commodity prices from commercial data feeds. Charts and fonts load from public CDNs. Because your browser makes those requests, those providers see your IP address and user agent, exactly as they would if you visited them directly. This site sends them nothing about you beyond the request itself.

Outbound links to other services, including the newsletter, the community server, the tip jar and every source document, leave this site entirely. Once you follow one, that service's own privacy policy applies.

7. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing held about a child to delete.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to access, correct, or delete personal data a site holds about you. In practice there is nothing here to access or delete: no account exists, and the analytics hold no record tied to you. If you have sent a message through the feedback form and want it removed, ask and it will be deleted.

9. Changes

This policy may change as the site changes. The version posted at this URL is always the current one, and the date at the top says when it was last revised.
