Open-end mutual fund

A pooled investment fund where shares are created and redeemed daily at NAV. Most retail mutual funds are open-end. Compared to ETFs: less tax-efficient (forced sales of appreciated holdings to meet redemptions), priced once daily, sometimes have minimum investments.
