Net income divided by shares outstanding. The single number Wall Street obsesses over every quarter. Beating estimates = stock goes up. Missing = down.

Formula

EPS = Net income / Shares outstanding

Example

Apple earned $93.7B with 15.4B shares = $6.08 EPS.
