Pip

Markets
Definition
Smallest standardized price increment in foreign exchange. For most pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD), 1 pip = 0.0001 (the fourth decimal). For yen pairs, 1 pip = 0.01 (the second decimal because USD/JPY trades around 150).

Pip values are how forex traders measure profit/loss. On a standard 100,000-unit lot of EUR/USD, 1 pip = $10. Many retail brokers also use "pipettes" (one tenth of a pip) for tighter spreads.
Example
EUR/USD moves from 1.0850 to 1.0875 = 25 pips. On a 100K position, that's $250 profit.
