Originally an electronic dealer market (1971), now the second-largest US stock exchange. Heavily tech-weighted: hosts AAPL, MSFT, NVDA, GOOG, AMZN, META, TSLA — the "Magnificent 7."

The Nasdaq Composite tracks all Nasdaq stocks (3,000+); the Nasdaq-100 (NDX) tracks the largest 100 non-financial. Nasdaq itself (NDAQ) is a publicly traded company.
