Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Self-regulatory organization (SRO) overseeing US broker-dealers. Sets rules on conduct, capital, supervisory standards. Distinct from the SEC — FINRA regulates firms; SEC regulates markets and securities laws.

Issues fines for rule violations, requires registration of brokers (Series exams), oversees the BrokerCheck public database. Funded by member fees and assessments.
