Cyclical sectors

Investing
Definition
Sectors whose earnings rise and fall with the business cycle: industrials, materials, financials, consumer discretionary, energy. Outperform in expansions; underperform in recessions.

Rotate INTO cyclicals when LEIs turn up, yield curve un-inverts, or commodity prices recover. The broad cyclical/defensive rotation is one of the most basic macro trades.
