Brokered CD

Banking
Definition
A certificate of deposit issued by a bank but sold via brokerage accounts (Schwab, Fidelity, IBKR). Offers higher yields than retail CDs because brokers aggregate large pools of deposit demand.

FDIC-insured up to $250K per bank — sophisticated savers ladder brokered CDs across multiple banks for $1M+ insured exposure. Liquid (can sell on the secondary market) but at potentially uneven prices.
