Black swan

Theory
Definition
A rare, high-impact, retrospectively-rationalized event. Coined by Nassim Taleb. Examples: 2008 financial crisis, 2020 COVID, 2022 Russia-Ukraine war.

Black swans aren't predictable but are partially hedge-able through tail-risk strategies (puts, gold, anti-beta), conservative leverage, and antifragile portfolio construction.
